Yeah, KPMG should be tossed. How on earth does the board and GE leadership think they are doing a great job. You are under investigations by SEC. OBTW this is not the first time for GE. Yet, the board recommends KPMG be retained. Note to self John; GE will not be continue to be run like it used to. If you continue the arrogant management of days of old share holders don’t need you or the board.
Why do you need an auditor? GE leadership does whatever they want anyway. Board is useless, leadership is a bunch crooks, employees and suppliers are their bank. You could hire a monkey to do what KPMG does.
GE is so big, complicated and in so many countries bringing in another firm would be very difficult to get up to speed. At a minimum, I would expect this years audit to be more rigorous.
Good point ..why would you even believe the auditors data. CAS boys will work that six sigma magic and tell the story they want to spin year over year. You ever wonder why these guys get promoted to quickly on the CAS? I'll tell you why because they know all the little dirty accounting and audit results that the GE leadership knows. If those tidbits ever get released to shareholders ..the place crumbles.
But we need KPMG! Do you think Pricewaterhouse or those dolts at Deloitte understand the intricacies of the GE Inspira font?!? Do you think anyone but KPMG can pump out a presentation in GE blue?
Don't worry about the revenue recognition standards or the shell-game of cash with GE Capital or the toplines on toplines for final results....that's what CAS is for.
The thread was started because as shareholder of the company I voted to toss KPMG as well. But the issue is what the heck does my single vote get me? The GE leadership IF you read the proxy "recommended they continued with KPMG as an auditor of GE"
This is the issue..good ole boys in GE leadership and their buddies KPMG keeping getting rich while the employees and shareholders get screwed.
We need another Enron type scandal to get things changes. Mandatory auditor change every 3-5 years. Cartel like behavior from Big 4. I say burn GE to the ground for all I care.
