Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Time to move on

I worked for this company close to 30 years, at the beginning of my career I would have said yes..however for the last 5 to 6 years it’s has become extremely stressful...lace of direction and the current management is in such a self preservation mode that their employees have been shoved to the way side. Lack of direction along with constant chaos and confusion, I would highly recommend people to look elsewhere...this is NOT a desirable company to work for, our CEO, TT does not have any respect for his employees...I would rather take a cut in pay and work for a company who values their employee than work for someone who does not value their employees...suggestion seek employment elsewhere!

Couldn't agree more, @Suv4FJg-jbo

@SvAmhWF-1hmk that was just an example. This could apply to any number of positions depending on your current level and your goals. I'd rather be a worthless engineer for 1 year than worthlessly employed in a front line position for life.

Better leave before you find yourself stranded.

@SvAmhWF-hdo doubt you will be a eningeer in the NOC they are all analysts but if you are after a job with eningeer in the title then welcome aboard Windstream has plenty of worthless engineering positions and engineers you will fit right in.

The days of working for 1 company are long gone anyways. If you can get a higher level position that will give you experience you didn't have before - even if you only keep that job for a year before the company landslides - you will walk away with the experience to apply that somewhere else. Example - I'm currently working for CenturyLink as a level 2 tech. I get a job at windstream as a NOC engineer level 1.... 1 year later I am laid off.. but now I have NOC engineering experience.

No company is a career company anymore. Nobody even cares how long you worked in your last position anymore.
