Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

So What has Changed?

So what lessons have we learnt over the last 3 years, that we have learned from and changed to be a better company?

What mistakes are we continuing to make, and why?

Youngsters are cheaper to hire, use Facebook and chat all day during work hours relying on senior employees to do their work and the youngsters presenting it as their own, SPIRIT values, baby!

Bad times started with the selection of the LT after the split. Most of the leadership team had been passed over or rejected by JJ, they had a chip on their shoulders, and were eager to show the world how good they were.

So we ended up with an arrogant narcissistic bunch of “managers” who did not know how to listen and could not define “leadership” if you gave them a dictionary.

The cost to the company in their failures has been huge: poor planning/forecasting, capital projects, exploration, funding decisions based more on presentations and friendships rather than value creation, and continued bureaucracy.

We see through their hypocrisy in SPIRIT values so we go paycheck to paycheck with no more loyalty productivity to this once-great company.

1) Not making tough decisions in fear of failure.

2) Not developing young talent in fear that they will know more than their supervisors.

3) Giving 1 & 2 s to pets irrespective of performance of other team members.

4) Keep doing same stuff hoping for different outcome.
