My idiot cousin has the same credentials: zero toy experience. He must surely be a fast-track candidate for the BoD! When can he expect a first paycheck?
They need 36 meetings, 18 decks and 5 swat teams to change the font on the website. After 18 months they’ll be high fiving themselves.

Astounding. The new chairman has NO experience or expertise in Hardlines. Mattel is a Hardlines company. We design and manufacture physical items. So now we have another key position filled with someone who knows nothing about our business.
Hey, animation is farmed out to Korea and other 3rd world places. Surely we can farm out the design and engineering of hardlines as well, maybe to Bangladesh, right? Think about the cost savings!
We never learn. Somehow we just can't hire people with hardline or toy industry experience and expertise to lead this Toy Company.
I forsee a big expense in a new "media" arm of the company. They will spend millions, give many people "Producer" titles, and will produce little of any consequence. But we will surely have more EVPs, SVPs, and VPs to man this new operation. All with smug, know-it-all attitudes and no useful skills whatsoever.
Meanwhile the Hardlines, the bread and butter of this company, will continue to be a rudderless ship.
People at Mattel don't even know how to Google. They are doomed.
