Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

More positions to be cut?

Is it true that we are looking at more cuts in positions across the board?

There's been talk at our store lately, and I'm starting to worry we might be looking at a repeat of last year.

I might be reading too much into simple store gossip as well.

Basically, it'd be nice if somebody who has any info would share it, just to know where we stand.

We're going to hold you accountable for sales but we need to cut all the hours for payroll so it's up to you to come up with a solution to get sales And get more customer foot traffic

Something has to be coming-stores of this size can't keep running like this. It's just miserable. My store is in the same shape. Irp's not getting done, same for cycle counts and down stocking. We barely get new signage up. Sometimes it's not all up and we are scrambling to do it. We are tasking more and really can't help the customers like we should. Were in the 100 Days- and it is Hell! All it would take is to hire more full time and forget all the part time crap. Part timers don't care, they have no reason to. Would you for 10-20 hours a week with '0' chance for a full time job. I'm an LNS and this is the worst year out of my 9years - always loved my job, but I don't think I'll make 10. I may not have to worry about it -I'm sure my job will be phased out. I'll bet we start seeing store closings too.

About 2 months ago I went to my Local Lowes looking for a thumbnail screw with a friend. A customer overheard us talking and was more helpful than the clerk we asked.

Same at all the stores across the board. Lowe's does not give a sh-- about their employees, and the employees do not give a sh-- about Lowe's . It is all one screwed up company going down the drain, and I look forward to seeing it come to pass.

Due to the lack of employees in the stores.

Yesterday I had to tell a customer that it would be about 15 minutes befor I could help him. I explained that I had 3 customers ahead of him. Two orders of paint to make and to cut 6 blinds. He said he was not going to wait, he wanted to buy a fridge. He walked out the store. I went to cut the blinds customer had left. That's why Lowes is losing money. I was covering for departments.

We had 2 District managers lose their jobs this week, been hearing there were more cuts at the District level. Waiting to hear confirmations of such.

Nope. Stores going to run on skeleton crews for the time being. Lowe's is just a cluster. No direction. No leadership. Everyone wants out. It's a lost cause. Same store every store. EOS in the crapper. Inventory/shrink out of control and no one cares..

We've had associates covering 4 departments on a Saturday night at my store. Store manager has implemented a cross-training program so we can more effectively cover other departments.

The only things that matter are; credit cards, EPP's, and shutting off the call boxes in under a minute. We have one associate per department per shift. Can't get anything done so mixed pallets of freight at top stocked and come down Sunday night after we close.

Haven't heard that but my store got a directive cut payroll hours which makes no sense because there's only one associate in each department working at any given time. One freaking associate in appliances, flooring, paint, electrical, customer service, plumbing. No coverage what so ever and they wonder why sales are down. Customers get pissed off and walk out.
