It is not only private equity who s--- a blood but talented management too. I can name quite a few AS projects which are expensive with little return . Some of them have no value at all. During tough time with limited resources some of the folks had a party. People authorized it still on the top and continue to bs everybody with new worseless stories about the future.

Every Sabre employee has, without realizing it, effectively been paying off a $250k mortgage for Sabre for the past 11 years. That's like $2000 per month that could have benefitted each employee that instead went into the pockets of the leveraged buy out raiders who bought Sabre just to bleed it like a vampire for as much as they could without killing it outright.

Just imagine where we could be today with an extra $2000 per month per employee for the past 11 years.

The last two comments say it all - in 2014 a good article on the Dallas Morning News, explaining how going private generated no value but a vast debt. And as a consequence, lack of investment making us uncompetitive

Sabre is being Bain Capitaled. It's what private equity firms do. Sabre's private equity owners are in the end game.

When Sabre went private the private equity firm did exactly the same thing that killed ToysRUs. They saddled Sabre with about $200k of debt per employee and took that money out to fund their next buy leaving Sabre to pay off the loan. Sabre still hasn't paid it off. It is amazing Sabre wasn't bankrupted then. Sabre has been suffering since then because it could not invest in the future. Sabre could barely afford to keep the lights on.

The same thing happened to Travelport

GDS and business around it is shrinking and So will Sabre.

Marketing and rebranding as Next, Future, +, ++ or calling Product instead Project will not help the company. Investor and Airlines can be fooled for may be some more time.

IBM no longer sells unix or other boxes or laptops. Microsoft is ready to run linux for you.

Companies evolve and even shrink and I guess so will Sabre.

I hope Sabre is not over loaded with credit like Toyrus.
