If you get ambushed by HR and told you are "laid off", remember that QC HR is staffed by incompetents. Stay cool. Ask lots of questions. Lots and lots of questions. Document everything. Sign nothing until you are sure you want to. Document efforts to pressure you to sign. Document what they say when you ask if you can have time to consider. Document what they say when you explain you are too stressed to make a decision immediately. Document anything that indicates discrimination against a group. These bozos will f--- up, and you will get your million dollar payday.

All severance agreements require a minimum 21 day decision period (45 days if over 40) and a 7 day rescission period by law.

Agreed 100%. Sue them for the millions. Forget EDD, it's only $450 per week with lot of humiliation questions.
