Let me keep this simple, how safe is the store receiving position??? Anyone with any info???

Our store has two receivers and few back-ups. They're always super busy. Receivers will always be needed.
In our region receivers make bales when they are on the clock and grocery takes over when there is no receiver. The receiver signs and checks in everything. A shifty can only sign if the receiver is at lunch and no one is allowed to touch it. No one else in the store is allowed to receive anything. The receiver enters all invoices, clears the floor before opening, plus all the OTS sh--. There is occasional down time, but it's busy most of the day.
this last ones i recall at my old store were ok. the main one did do quite a bit of work..but they also d*ed around alot too. it was the PT receiver that was a worthless louse. one day i did back up when both of them were out. i literally sat in the office, recieved a labatt delivery which each deot was responsible for their own part of, and continued doing my ow work for my.other team. i was there IN CASE of deliveries. also scanning wb merch is a btch, mostly bc of how you have to scan it..not bc of the number of items. that system alone is what makes it seem like a busy job. also...Grocery was responsible for bales not the receiver. and at night, if it needed to be done, whoever added thast last load had to do it. its not flippin hard folks. plus if you tried to skip out, you got sht fm everyone.
@SnKfpAq-1usu I’m not sure what store you are but what constant interruptions? They barely check in any product and when they do it’s maybe 20 min worth of work.
Our receiver would rather pass everything off on to others while she does very little. At other grocery stores, the receiver performs a LOT of tasks from checking everything in as it comes in through the back door to making bales, and some are responsible for running bread back stock. SO...I say goodbye to another bunch of time wasters.....
There is a lot of paperwork. I worked receiving for a dept store and there was about 15min of paperwork. At WFM it can take hours, especially with constant interruptions. There are a lot of tasks that receivers do at WFM that are not done by receivers in any other supermarket.
OURS SAME. SITS PLAYS ON PHONE PLAIN SIGHT OF OTHER MANAGERS AND BECAUSE THEY BFFS NONE SAY SOMTHNG. IF IT WAS ME THEY WOULD BE BARKING AT ME AND PROBABLY FIRE ME.
The receiving team in my store are worthless barely scan In any product and just sit in the office all day. They pretend they are super busy with paperwork but everyone knows it’s horse sh--.
They have an office? Ours freezes his a-- off sitting a foot away from the open bay doors. It literally snows on his desk sometimes.
Our Receivers don't want to receive trucks, don't want to make bales and complain about having to scan whole body products. All they want to do is sit in their office and handle the invoices.
every retail store has a receiver..even target. when theyre gone for the day, the store manager had to accept product and it sat in lock up until it was scanned in the next day.
Someone in grocery could receive product when it arrived in between stocking it isn’t. A 40 hour job when the small vendors stop comming in

I would assume one job is safe but stores with more then one I would think probably not so much. I’m just going by what I see goes on in receiving not allot of product gets scanned in lots of trusted vendors.
