Messed up point system

The point system at whole foods is the worst! Yes it keeps people coming to work and keeps them on time but it has major flaws! I don't understand why I was getting points for missed punches.... I was a really good worker there and almost lost my job just because of there rediculouse point system... you should be fired because you aren't a good employee... not because of your points adding up over trivial stuff. I lived 30 minutes away from the whole foods I worked at and there where a few mornings I was late because of the snow and ice but they didn't care and put pints against me. I felt like I was putting myself in danger every morning in the winter trying to hurry and get to work. They told me "leave early" um... I worked at 5am everyday and there is no way my ads is getting up at 2 or 3am just so I don't get a damn point...

I made it 17 years at Whole Foods with no attendance marks. When I left I went to a company with a very lax attendance policy, the employees love it. Every Monday and Friday when 1/3 to 1/2 is of the employees call in with aro notice and I get to do their work and have management down my throat on why I can’t get it all done sure makes me miss Wfm’s attendance policy.

Everyone who lives in snow regions knows that you need to allow yourself a lot of extra time to get to work.

Sounds like you have a messed up work ethic. Face it, pal...that is pure whinery.

Unfortunately, there is nothing that you can do about the policy and the system. Employment laws do not protect employees from seemingly unethical employer behavior.
