Back on March 9th in the KC Business Journal, Dave Tovar (SVP Communications) was quoted as saying "Sprint will add jobs in sales, network, digital and customer experience, but did not specify how many would be added in the Kansas City metro area."
To date, there have been rumblings as well as posts here that indicate cuts have occurred or are actively occurring in all of the areas Tovar mentioned except possibly customer experience. It seems pretty nasty to publicly say that these orgs will be hiring, but instead immediately follow it up with layoffs in those orgs. If the jobs being added are just similar jobs posted in other offices instead of giving those impacted the option to move, that is equally brutal/nasty.
Has any figure been floated anywhere regarding how many people were impacted nationwide? It seems that number is much more than just the 500 announced in Overland Park. I wouldn't be surprised if it's at least closer to 1k or more.
