Within the next couple weeks will be calling back up to 52 union workers. Sources tell me that GE has big orders they are keeping on the back burner. Sources tell me that GE is doing this as a ploy to break the union in 273. The writing is on the wall that things look bleak and grim like a black tooth grin. So brush your teeth un learn what you have learned because the jobs on the outside are better if you take the risk. Do not be fooled by the rumor of more layoffs. GE has lots and lots of work for the next 2 months at most. They projected almost 30 full builds this year. Sit back grab your pop corn and soda pop and enjoy the circus show.

No chance of call backs. With less than 200 workers on day shift, it looks more like a library than a manufacturing site.
Saw a posting for an inventory control job being filled by a call back so yes people are being called back.

There will most definitely not be call backs in Schenectady. Building 273 will soon be undergoing a drastic transformation from a new build production facility to a service shop. The number of employees needed to run the service shop will be in the 400-500 range. If you are a Union employee in Schenectady and you are not in the top 500 in seniority.....do yourself a favor and start getting your resumè ready because you will be hitting the street much sooner than any of you union simpletons think. Big changes are in the works for Schenectady. The plans are already drawn up and they will be executing this overhaul rapidly in the coming weeks. These things all seem drastic, but they are absolutely necessary in order to keep GE in Schenectady from closing.
