Does anyone have information on the "emergency" steward meeting today?
Lockheed Martin is horrible for playing with our emotions. LM should burn in hell.
It’s the end of June... What layoffs?
New here? Welcome to the f---ing show...
I agree it's time they told everyone exactly what is going on and when!
LM still hasn’t said sh--. Am I getting laid off ?
How do you know WPB will be closed when LM hasn't said anything?
When end of June layoffs occur , look for a second round towards the end of the year , production in WPB is ending .
Here it is June , Lockheed Martin has not even announced any layoffs....
othoreinmd, save your money. That Pax River test program isn’t going to last forever.
It was funny at the Union meeting they told us to stay away from thelayoff.com site. Lol, why?
Maybe I’d rather not drink the Kool Aid you’re serving me Local 1150.
It’s looking like Choppers to Whoppers... Apply to Pax River, MD!
LM WONT GIVE YOU CONFIRMATION ABOUT BEING LAID OFF UNTI THE WEEK OF JUNE 25th.
The reason, if there is a possibility of you staying employed with LM , you will be more productive and less likely to do anything foolish.
Why do we have to wait two months to find out who'll be axed?
Just curious???
Makes no sense, the morale is dropping rapidly.
@Aoof as long as what you post is legal (no threats, etc.) why would someone care what I do in my free time (e.g., looking posts on layoffs dot com)

In short today, at the Union meeting:
1) LM is not happy with how the membership is laboring on the aircraft. Just a reminder, improper laboring will get you fired.
2) Concerning layoffs, nothing is set in stone. You’ll have to wait until the week you might get laid off (June 27th) to get a definite answer from LM....
My opinion, it’s damage control, it’s to keep hope alive and prevent employees from doing stupid things(theft, sabotage). I’m putting my money on the layoff occurring on June 27th. I don’t have a crystal ball and I pray I’m wrong.
If you’re on a burner phone, good luck tracking down who is commenting on this forum . Also, the amount of effort required to track down who is posting on a pc or mobile device outweighs the reward.
I AM SURE LOCKHEED MARTIN is monitoring these posts and probably having a laugh in the process.
DO NOT POST ANY COMMENTS OF AN ILLEGAL NATURE.
You have management that crash and burned Crestview and Horse Heads running the show. You also have a flight operations manager that is somehow holding his position with just a high school education... I am sorry, I hold management responsible for this SNAFU. UTC was too kind and helped these inept A-- CLOWNS by bringing them to West Palm Beach and they dropped the ball yet again.
I pray that when they lay off the last hourly employee, LM fires every last idiot Supervisor and Manager in WPB.
It just made the 6:00pm news. Doesn't look too good...
On a positive note the Union will help some employees relocate to other Sikorsky facilities. Also, the Union is driving to DC to speak with Congress.
Yes. Keep going enough to hopefully keep the doors open long enough for the work to come back. Just giving up and completely screwing LM will only make it easier for them to completely close FL.
Also you may need references when getting a new job you don't want the last impression to be a bad one.
Just my opinion
FAFO, slow down. Don’t stop working but work at a snails pace.
SLOW DOWN!!!
In a Tuesday conference call, Lockheed Martin executives had referenced lower government sales of Sikorsky helicopters, while noting improved profitability the result of cost cuts.
“We are actually ... getting a little bit of traction with some of the initiatives we put in place and ... managing some cost controls (better) than the business had previously,” said Bruce Tanner, chief financial officer of Lockheed Martin. “We are hoping that trend continues, obviously, as we go up through the rest of the year.”

Sikorsky/Lockheed Martin layoffs possible
Apr 25, 2018 12:54 PM
JUPITER, Fla. -- More than 200 employees at the Lockheed Martin/Sikorsky facility in Jupiter could face potential layoffs this summer.
Employees closely monitoring the situation, who wish to remain anonymous, tell WPTV that the layoffs involve workers in the Blackhawk military helicopter program at the facility.
There are a total of 500 employees working there. No names of who will be laid off have been finalized.
Sikorsky Aircraft is based in Connecticut but was bought by Lockheed Martin Corp. for $9 billion in 2015.
Employees said a union representative with Teamsters Local 1150 is planning to hold a meeting with employees to discuss the layoffs. The union is based in Connecticut with chapters in Florida and Alabama.
Calls and emails to the union have not been returned. A union representative who answered the phone in the Connecticut office said he could not discuss the issue with WPTV.
Use a little common sense (I know, it's not that common) . What would you do if you were LM and you wanted to make a butt load of money for your shareholders???
I would wait until the FAFO production facility lease was up and move the operation to Greenville,SC . I would also start the new employees at $12.00 an hour for production and $17.00 for flight line.
There is nothing Local 1150 can do if LM decided to padlock the gate to FAFO and say "sorry folks, we have openings in Greenville. Please feel free to apply!"
LM is not UNICEF or a public charity. It's the world's biggest defense contractor. LM didn't get to the top by being charitable, warm and fuzzy.
Aerojet Rocketdyne is hiring and the RL-10 program is good for how many years???
It's amazing how many people spread misinformation because they're d---s or just board at work ...
I work next door at Aerojet and word around the shop is we’re facing layoffs soon too.
It’s a sinking ship. Pax River gig will last to 2020??? If not working in Stratford you will not be working for Sikorsky.
Gulfstream is hiring in Savannah,GA
$30+ an hour

Hell, still makin 10-15 hrs a wk OT, not in Fl, but still have my home there, get to go home for holidays, oh yeah, still makin 10 - 15 hr OT a week! (did I say that already?) Pax aint so bad,,,
So the Teamsters 1150 is the only Union on plant earth that's not allowed to strike???!!! ...and we r suppose to believe it??? Kinda hard to believe and honestly, I don't!!! Keep drinking that Kool-Aid!!!
If you read your contract you could see per Article XIII the union agrees to not strike during the term of the current contract. If any employees engage in a strike without the unions backing ( which the union wouldn't back because it would be liable to the company per contractual agreement) then said employees who participated would be disavowed from the union within 48 hours and subject to displinary action up to and including termination. A strike would only hurt the current situation. If you are affected by this layoff just be glad that the recall rights are in place. Seems like a lot of recruiters check this site and have job opening sure it will be tough getting back into the employment market but polish up your resumes and try and hang on just in case it's a temporary layoff and you'll be called back when work picks back up.
A strike in FL, CT and AL simultaneously would be highly effective in bringing all revenue to an immediate halt and it would bring them to the table in very short order. . After all, shareholders $$$ is what this is all about and its all they really care about..."The Almighty Dollar"...at our expense. Do u wonder y this layoff anouncement hasn't hit the media yet? It's because once it makes the news, all the politicians (and hopefully the Teamsters) will get involved (like in 2011) and start fighting to save our jobs...something LM obviously doesn't want. So, a strike is our only option at this point and we have to make a demand for a strike vote ASAP.
Original poster here (AnonSec)- I posted this a month ago to try to warn everyone ( friends and even those of you who are complete asshats ). I was able to obtain this knowledge from some inside information ( before even the local knew ). I'm sorry to everyone effected by this. Please stay strong and stop bashing what is probably the easiest job anyone has had over the last 10 years. most of us have been family and we need to stand together now more than ever! FAFO was originally supposed to be shut down about 1 year after it opened just to bail out Stratford but we kicked a-- and became a solid #2. This is 100% Lockheed. They want to strip the company and rebuild the culture. I have no information on a 2nd wave for now all I can see is this one massive swoop about 600 people total between FL & Straddord ( about 400 in Stratford ) please keep a level head. The work should return and as of now the plan is to ramp back up sometime after the start of 2020.
Trust me or not but a strike would be all they need to shut down FL completely except DFC. For the people who are lucky and survive this stay strong and kick a-- so we can all return as soon as possible.
To those who are salty ( rightfully so ) I'm sorry for you and your family. I hope all of you can find work and stay strong. If you need help don't be afraid reach out.

A year ir so?!?!?! R u kidding??? Most of these people can't even make it for a week before financially collapsing!!! Starbucks and 7-11 (where most of us came from) certainly don't pay anything near what they were making. This will be a tough lesson to learn for those invloved.
Chances are, you will all be back in a year or so once work picks back up.
This is aviation, boom or bust. Those of us who have years in this industry have repeatedly told you to prepare. Work the overtime, save your money and get your A and P ticket. - IF- you get laid off use this time to get your ticket or explore another career . You have 5 yrs worth of recall rights and your pay out is better than most other companies.
