Guys, this isn’t fake. Lots of groups received this email today. They want volunteers to notify their management by March 26 if interested. Thereafter the actual layoff begins mid April. May 21st seems to be the date by which people would leave.

The package is really good: severance + 2 weeks for every year/month/week you’ve been with QCom, and compensation for health care.
It s---s that there are layoffs, but at least the package is good.

The letter my department received yesterday just cited the $1B spending means there will be lay offs. Your Director has to approve you leaving with a package. If your position is vital, your request to leave won’t be approved. The deadline to volunteer is COB Monday. The earliest termination date would be May 21st.
Most likely the group that aren’t being affected more than 10% are asking for volunteers, if someone is already planning to leave or retire soon. The departments that are being told to cut 40% already have their lists. Plus there is a big re-org happening.
Can someone share the email - remove names
It goes by team and some group that they determine by their criteria. It is still in the process so more and more people will get the email throughout this week.

Maybe only the groups that are fully dispensable have gotten this love laced email, the rest of us are not that fortunate.

OP - which group are you in and how many years have you been with QC and at what title are you in ? Also, rating for the past 2 years ?
Sorry I cannot say that here but ask around your peers. They’ll confirm with you. Again, 100% not fake. I have received the email myself. May be they want me to volunteer.
