Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Another bad period

So financials were in the crapper again last period. When is Amazon going to wake up and start purging the regional leadership that’s causing bad morale which is responsible for the general lack of caring?

There need to be changes in August. Start with leadership in the Southwest, Northeast and Florida. South too. Bezos needs to wake up or all the home delivery in the world won’t save his purchase from being a disaster.

Sorry. No leadership is worse than the NE. Nothing but nepotism and favoritism for years. Amazon needs to make changes, this region is about to implode. Don’t know how much more we can take.

SW Leadership IS terrible and only getting worse. It also wouldn't hurt certain TLs to remember to say something positive every so often to their hardworking TMs. All negative all the time is no way to be. Nitpicking and complaining, perhaps even unjustly targeting certain TMs... you realize you're just as disposable, I hope.

Truth is most RPs and all RVPs are just a bunch of sock puppets doing and saying only what they’re told.

The couple in power at the top dictate everything that goes on, and the results have not been good. Amazon needs to take a hard look at everyone in a power position and make changes. The company is a disaster right now and Bezos and co are too smart to let it continue.

NW leadership is also terrible, rude and arogant. I have worked for WF for a long time and none of these regional people president on down even say hello or talk to TM. Moral is at zero. So sad.

Omar is awful. I do not understand how he still has the position he is in. Ran The South region into the ground then moved on. Not only that he is so arrogant! Omar just get over yourself already. You are lousey.

Omar is terrible, he screwed up one region and was rewarded by getting an even bigger one to mess up. Aren’t the northeast RVPs in place because they are Christina minardis friends?

You’re right Amazon needs to really look at the people in these positions. At least 50% shouldn’t be in their positions.

Ditto all of this for the northeast. NE leadership is terrible and no one - NO ONE - likes them or are happy working for them. Nothing but job threats and bullying. They are the worst.

You all have the SW Region pegged correctly! At my store, labor is severely cut back. The other day, there was a call out in my department... all anyone could care about is the fact that things were not finished on the checklist. Then they sit back in the STL office and wonder why people are running away to other stores or simply quitting. Quite the accusation, but if management is aware of problems, why are they not stepping in? I will respect you more when you roll up your sleeves and help out once in a while...

HOWEVER:

I know my leadership is feeling the stress of all of this... they look tired and sad. It has been awhile since I have seen any of them smile or offer any kind of assurance that things are going well or OK. So, in my opinion, these people are just as stressed as we are. It certainly does not help when the "OTS People" come in and tear everything up and have nothing positive to say.

I don'tknow if it's the worst but the Southwest leadership is BAD. Has been for the last thirteen years that I know of. Nothing changes. They come up with programs they have no idea if they will work and threaten people with losing their jobs if they don't make them work. Tired, stressed out team members. Sounds like the only thing at Whole Foods that is a guaranteed success is the Tribal Gatherings. Fun event for the people that least deserve it.

The SW Leadership is the worst. The worst. They continue to cut labor and then complain that work, isn't getting done. That things look bad. Of course it does! There aren't enough people! And the people who are left to do the work are so stressed and they hear nothing but negative feedback from the people in charge who are sabotaging them with more and more initiatives and programs and less and less people to execute them.
