Property Proximity and Deployed

29 year employee here that is 51 and a female. Have done nothing but Property Field Claims my entire career. Now I am having to compete for my job. I truly believe that the safest place to be is on the Deployed side. I see more and more independent adjusters being used which makes me wonder if this job will be here in the future. Any thought on going Deployed? Thanks!

As a former manager now working as a proximity rep, I can tell you independents are bit costs savers. Their cost to us is about 200k a year. IMO, the time will likely be scarred back with the use of video scoping, 3rd party PSP, and simply settling off contracted bids for smaller claims.

Deployed is th safest job in the company, especially fire side. Increasing 107 jobs and more to come after that and people begging to get in the door. Fire company deployed adjusters keep claims afloat. Auto total loss, send fire cat, Migration, send fire cat, local needs help, send fire cat. Come in, bust tail, go home and save the day. Continually proving their worth. Cat support jobs are taking hits but with just shy of 500,000 claims last year, they are safe. Losing tons of talent due to un-sustainable days worked and no work-life balance and lack of promotion, will be a huge turn over when overtime pay is cut. Just a matter of time before the pay scale changes again, but some sort of change needs to be made.
