Good for you @Sa82jNq-1sqj do not look back. If you are in California, just cross street and walk to VMWare where employees are actually valued. Citrix is dog meat. Lots of other companies elsewhere. Your goal now is to pocket that extra $$.

I came in to the office and was met by HR shortly after selling down. We went into a reserved office (not a meeting room) and they systematically and professionally gave me details of my layoff and severance.

I can’t talk about the severance but I am am happy about it.

I was coming up on 7 years but am happy that this Citrix horror is over.

Not looking back.

The WARN period can be subtracted from your severance weeks (and Citrix does take advantage of this), so the pay difference is not that significant when the WARN rule kicks in.

Say, due to your title, your severance is 6 weeks + 3 weeks per completed years of service. You've worked for 2 years and 10 months, so your severance becomes 12 weeks (6 weeks base + 2 years * 3 weeks). Now, if Citrix got rid of 50+ from one location, Citrix might have to keep you on board for 2 more months to comply with the WARN rules, but Citrix can subtract the 8 weeks of the WARN period from your severance. The result is that you are on WARN for 8 weeks and get 4 weeks severance. If you've been with Citrix for less than a year, Citrix might save some money by avoiding the WARN period, but in many cases it doesn't matter.

The benefit to the company of not triggering the WARN is not having to report the layoff to the authorities. Flying under the radar is always the best choice when your pilot skills are poor.

4 people from my team laid off today but management said "this is not a company wide layoff. We are just downsizing in some areas". Then would not confirm or deny if there would be more "downsizing".............Uh-huh.... :-/ ....Uhm.... Isn't that what "layoffs" are? .....People losing their jobs not because of performance but because of "downsizing"? = layoff......right? Am I crazy? .............BUT I am still here, for now, I think. I'll update if I get a meeting invite tomorrow.

I was laid off from Citrix. They are doing small ones here and there to keep it under the radar and so they don't have to pay WARN pay.

Agreed, Nothing happened, this was a false rumor that never went any where. And we are expected to believe in smaller Isolated layoffs? bwahahahaha.

Except, that a casual use of a phrase in conversation doesn't meet criteria for "sedulous" repeat. Especially when it happened once.

See what I did there? I trolled you for more info and then used your own words to demonstrate that your are full of it.

Actually the definition of parrot as a verb per the dictionary is..."a person who sedulously echoes another's words" ~ Merriam Webster.

Did you just make up what you thought could be an anwser for the definition? Because it was false information. See what I did, I used an alternative to "fake news" there.

A parrot is someone who repeats the same thing without regard to reality. Like, say, repeating the same rumor regardless of the evidence.

The terms fake news and nothing burger make you sound like a parrot. Perhaps you can find your own words and vocabulary rather than repeat buzzwords from idiot news personalities. That said, it will be happening in smaller waves and not a mass layoff.

Read previous post,,, sporadic layoffs taking place (has been for weeks). You will be hearing about 2-3 ppl here and there being laid off. The final casualty will be huge. Wait and see.
