Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Lowe's handled this so wrong

Lowe's handled this so wrong. They kept telling people to find other positions and unless it was a position like 2 steps down or more they wouldn't consider you cause they want to reduce your salary. It's a joke. I am still a CSA 5 and have another month plus left do to FMLA. I was turned down for part time and a specialist position which I did for years. They don't want these jaded people. All they want is a-- kissers who are inexperienced to mold them into what they want and pay them much less. We have an ASM who is a woman and well she is hungry. They only pay her 42K a year. That's 10K less then I made last year as a CSA 5. She will jump through hoops for the store manager who BTW sits in his office paging code 3's everywhere. It's a clueless system that has no idea what customer service is. I love stealing time doing nothing.

I feel bad for her. My pay was in line with yours as CSA5, I quit last year, travelled a bit, then found a new job paying more than she makes, but working M-F 9-5. I also make commissions and made another 10k, plus I have all major holidays off PTO instead of sick time. After 1 year, I have 6 weeks, I can use to be sick, take vacation or take the cash. The grass is greener, but you have to work hard to find the jobs. It took me 3 whole weeks..lol

Personal experience here, I was one of the department managers, turned CSA 5. Over the course of that year I applied for 12 positions within Lowe’s, each position was giving to someone from outside the company. I had been with Lowe’s for 5 years, My record with the company was clear, my annual reviews were always great. Sadly what it really came down to after doing some digging and finding out what “service/support managers” in my market were making, it all came down to money for the company. They took away our jobs, to hire someone else to do twice as much work for less pay. To be clear I loved what I did, and was planning on staying with Lowe’s for a very long time. Now I will not even shop at a Lowe’s, The whole situation makes me very sad.

Did you ever think possibly that person has been treated horribly for so long and is reacting to it? What I see here is a disgruntled person. I don't know how long he/she has been there but seems like it's been a while. Usually people like that have been with Lowe's for a while.

If you're stealing time then you are worse than the store manager, at least they are paging code 3's. Maybe the reason you were turned down for those positions is that management sees how little you actually do work.

Signed - Every associate that has to do even more work because of people like you
