'several embarrassing incidents that HR conveniently ignored'...this is common in every section of HR. They only exist to protect management. Most employees could write a book detailing the failures and cover-ups instigated by HR. One day someone will spill the beans.
V&M was a great division to be a part of but unfortunately it had cracks from the Britt Schmidt days with poor management foresight and an awkward and bloated organizational structure.
Then during the downturn after Jim Wright refused to be a part of the massive layoffs, Cameron management brought in the drunk Scotsman (good ol' Doug M.) who happened to be in the know with Jack Moore. This drunk s-xual predator spent his time yelling at people, groping women, or being an incompetent drunk who had several embarrassing incidents that HR conveniently ignored.
Next they brought in another West Point grad who promptly left the company to become a CEO elsewhere after mentioning he wasn't going anywhere previously (surprise, surprise). Following him yet another West Point grad who did nothing while he was President of Measurement except clip his toenails on his desk.
After this they bring in yet another legacy SLB who gave his famous 3-3-3 month ultimatum and will continue the time honored tradition of talking big but doing very little.
Its sad to see incompetence drag down a once great division to be a part of. Too many legacy old farts (some who are still around) refused to die off or move on and continued to drag the division down with their 1970s way of thinking.
It'll be interesting if their are shakeups within management. JS, the bald headed bumbling idiot who doesn't know his head from his a$$ is unfortunately still around. The rest of the a$$ clowns including the guy from SLB (not the SVP the other guy AH) looks like he just woke up after a long night of binge drinking and is also yet another idiot in a long line of idiots who will continue to do nothing for the organization.
More layoffs are to come especially among the larger groups. Plants will have headcount reduced and as a result will continue to miss on key metrics.
More than likely SLB will get rid of V&M as it doesn't fit with their strategy and Paal is getting extremely annoyed with the lack of progress.
To the grunt workers at the bottom...if it wasn't obvious get the F out. Leave en mass and lets so how truly incompetent management is.
CAM V&M lost a lot of key people. Management is a freaking joke around there!!! Way to run a great company completely into the ground!!!
Still looking for my pay increase, Dude.
