Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Glassdoor reviews

Do you think anybody from the management actually checks Glassdoor reviews for Windstream?

That place is a true reflection of the current state in the company. Barely 2.7 stars with majority of latest reviews not just being bad, they are brutal.

I wonder if somebody actually takes their time to look at that and thinks that maybe something needs to change?

Yeah, didn't think so.

Except median average for the top companies is closer to 100k. Seattle - San fran.. both very expensive.. and yet. 100k. There are always others that make more.. but that's an exception.

I doubt anyone from recruiting/HR wants to read those things. We used to have a Dennison survey for internal employees and lots of people were brutally honest in those. I know on more than one occasion I was able to influence a VP and director to fire 3 bad managers.

As for making 200k, that's easy if you live in a big market like San Francisco or NYC. Anything locally is 75-100k without the cost of a big city.

I like to keep tabs on what goes on at WS as I still have a good bit of friends that work and to let others see there are other places outside the sinking ship.

Making 200k a year at a new job and still stuck on this site posting bs. I don't believe it. Post some layoff news next time.

Not sure if corporate is reading it but potential hires sure are. Insiders are seeing fewer candidates for open positions and difficulties getting high quality applicants to even bother.

We all have to start somewhere. I am thankful for the experience of engineer that WS let me put on my resume it really opened doors up. And no the job I had before WS only paid about 30k so I wasn't an idiot for accepting 50. Got the experience perfected my craft and moved on. My main job is paying ~100k and I do remote work for a security company for a client of in Pittsburgh, this one pays 100k+ year as well. So essentially I'm drawing 2 paychecks at the same time for working 9-5.

WS barely wanted to give me 50k a year. Got laid off now making ~200k with my talents. Drop the mediocre garbage company and go find something better I promise you its out there.
