Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

The solution to Q’s low stock price

Let’s hope the Q execs troll on this site. 5G will not be enough. With the Apple lawsuit, the FTC investigation into Qs business practices and the likely failed NXP acquisition Q needs to do something to turn this sh** around.

It’s pretty simple what they should do and I don’t know why their not doing it. Acquire an A.I. company instead, build an A.I. chip. That’s where the $$ is. Look at NVIDIA, Intel acquired Nervana and others. Qualcomm you are behind the game focusing on IOT. That’s not what the market wants to hear.

Let’s hope the NXP acquisition fails, Q pays the 2B and doesn’t waste the rest of its cash hoard. Acquiring NXP will only mean more layoffs for Q employees and not much on NXP side due to prior negotiations.

Seriously Q Execs go look at CB insights list of 100 top A.I. companies for 2018, take your 38B and go shopping. Watch your stock price explode.

@OP You do realize that Nervana was founded by 3 QC engineers from our own machine learning project, don't you? So we weren't late in the game at all--we were ahead of the game, and ahead of Intel. In fact, a quarter of Nervana's early staff were all from the same Qualcomm team. So we had the talent to do some serious damage in AI. The deep seated problem with Qualcomm is the utter lack of leadership in our management. They are afraid to be the first one out of the block, they feel insecure when there is no one around because they have no vision themselves. They have no guts, that's why they can only make easy "Me Too" decision--i.e. when others are doing it then they feel comfortable enough to do it too. They need the validation from our competitors, that's why we are always late to the game. Then as soon as they hit some rough waters, they get scared and give up. That's why we have no staying power and killed many otherwise promising projects. Our management is filled with people who don't have the wherewithal to lead; they might have high titles, but the reality is that they behave no different from minions. When you have management like that making decisions, even if you had the best talents in the world, they will eventually realize what is going on and leave. And the results are plain to see.

The Q execs troll this site?

Based on the number of views, the top threads on this board get, which include duplicate views, I would say there are about 200-300 unique users who view this board somewhat regularly. Anyone who thinks there is even the most remote chance that Q execs are among this small number is quite an idiot. This site is insignificant to anyone outside the few hundred people who are active here.
