so layoffs happened. Pres says 90 or so. he also says its to redefine our business- a sound strategy. He says we are moving to more engineering and less manufacturing, so laying off manufacturing hiring engineering. this is supposed to cut costs for customers. BUT he says same number of engineers hired vs mfg people laid off. THAT DOESNT CUT COSTS MR PRESIDENT!!! that will dramatically increase costs! this is an old out of date business model. Most companies that go down this path regret it due to increased delivery times, increased costs, less quality/ reliability and loss of control. IMHO: Dumb move.
