Thread regarding Sikorsky Aircraft layoffs

In short today, at the Union meeting:

1) LM is not happy with how the membership is laboring on the aircraft. Just a reminder, improper laboring will get you fired.

2) Concerning layoffs, nothing is set in stone. You’ll have to wait until the week you might get laid off (June 27th) to get a definite answer from LM....

My opinion, it’s damage control, it’s to keep hope alive and prevent employees from doing stupid things(theft, sabotage). I’m putting my money on the layoff occurring on June 27th. I don’t have a crystal ball and I pray I’m wrong.

When you’re making $18-$22 an hour you won’t see that much FMLA abuse or have many attendance issues...

Sikorsky was the best gig ever for a lot of people. REMEMBER, your luck is bad now but it may change for the better too! Death is permanent. Bad luck is temporary. Hang in there brother before you do anything stupid. Just because one door slams closes doesn’t mean another won’t open. Curses can and do turn into blessings!

In my opinion the membership has little to do with bad labor practices. Bipolar A-- management is the problem. One day they want every min on the AC then they want everything on DOI. Then throw a tantrum about hours or indirect. They should restructure Salary first. I'm surprised that didn't happen when LM took over.

If I lose my job I'll just completely give up. I need to be able to take care of my family. Sikorsky has been the best thing to ever happen to me and the last 5 years of my life have been nothing but 1 bad thing after another. I've all but given up and hardly care about anything. Then I go to work just to have coworkers talk sh--. ( a lot of bullies and harassment that would never fly anywhere else )

I wonder if they plan to help people with some counseling or something ( although it's usually pointless )

I've already made plans for myself out on some nice beach.
