Thread regarding CenturyLink layoffs

This can't be true, can it?

It almost seems like they are trying to go out of business. In our area the CO guys pulled all the spare cards and shelves out of the host offices and hid them in the tribs. I asked what was going on and they said there is an initiative to have all the spares pulled and shipped to Oregon and they woukd have to wait days to get a card or shelf if there was a problem. The CO supervisor told them to hide everything so that when they come to do the inventory it isn't found. That way they can still fix things.

Can this be true? I left CL a year ago because things were bad, but you gotta be kidding me with this sh--? Damn, I'm glad I left.

Office supplies are being rationed, I went to the bank the other day... only to five finger some toilet paper and took a pen from the counter. According to Centurylink... we are broke... when a person unfortunately gets laid off... their workstation gets raided for anything that the rest of that are left can utilize in our day to day work life. Pretty sad actually, moral is at the low point in my 20 years. Management flopping around in disarray, leadership is a mess. Stress and anxiety are at an all time high.

me too ....I heard before I got laid off that they have their own ( level 3 ) logistics which they feel is superior to Legacy CenturyLink. You see they really don't care about certain customers at all . Their attitude is the customers that are paying for 10 Gig, 40 Gig,100 Gig are the only ones worth fixing and even then if there is a fiber cut its no big deal....

This is absolutely 100 percent true. Hiding spares so the CO can fix stuff sithout waiting days for parts. Just a scratch of the surface of how bad it is. If you thiught it was bad with the Embarq to Centurylink deal, you ought to see it now. The Level 3 buyout/merger whatever you want to call it, brought things to an all new low.
