Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Anybody remember Bombay Bicycle Club?

Went to claim school in 1985 in Bloomington and got riffed in 2008. Landed on my feet but just now making what I was making when I hit canned.

I handle claims all over the country for a major trucking company. It’s been a cool job as I’ve mediated about 20 cases a year, traveled the country, played a lot of top golf courses, and eaten in a bunch of five star restaurants on the company dime.

Don’t forget the trucking companies when seeking employment

I was there for claims school in the early 90s. There was a small place called Tuxedo Junction that I visited a few times. During school it was Jacket and tie every day. In the third week a few people stopped showing up — turned out they were going to fail so they were sent home unceremoniously. I was happy then that I finally had a career job. (Two prior jobs) The Farm has been good to me for many years. Not so much these past 5 years or so.

Claim school in Bloomington was late 80’s for me. I remember Bombay Bicycle Club, and the obligatory dinner standing around the grill pits at Alexanders. Also the exam first thing every morning, and the empty chairs immediately afterward—when somebody got a failing score.
