sleep for 5 months and then get a job
retire
reinvent yourselves and switch to another job family
sell your home and move to a cheaper state

I got 8 months severance from my forced vacation back in Oct, i have it sitting in a high yield savings account, found a job 4 months later
After the October event , even in south florida I was able to get a job fairly quickly so did put some extra cash away for the next rainy day. Would never have been able to do it without the citrix layoff bonus.
The new ELT clowns have destroyed the once great company.
I got a generous severance which was about a 13-month all paid vacation during the October massacre (after adjusting my home budget). However I got to looking for a job right away which I was lucky to get quickly. Not gonna sit on my a--. I pocketted a considerable lump of cash.
