Thread regarding Baker Hughes layoffs

Aberdeen still paying off thousands of people. House prices falling and companies going bankrupt the city is dead.

In the last 4 months in Aberdeen more than 2400 oil company jobs have been lost, 4 major hotels have been closed, 3 bars that have all been in Aberdeen for more than 15 years, house prices continue to fall and most are not selling after 2 years on the market.

Even some of the main car dealers are starting to pull out of the "oil capital"

BHGE have paid off 65% of all Aberdeen staff and they continue to lose work and money.

Please stop posting on here made up rubbish about oil is back and BHGE Aberdeen is doing well the company is still failing at every aspect of the industry.

We are Advertising for 9 staff on the BHGE website all of are office/yard based and that's after paying off over 180 people and closing 2 offices just in Aberdeen in 4 years.

I feel your pain and perhaps life has not worked out for you as you would like. But bringing down others who have been successful is not the way. Your pain will only increase with this kind of thinking. Those of us you achieved success did so due to hard work, talent and a little bit of bleedin luck. Live and let live

The streets of Aberdeen are paved with gold and money is everywhere if you are willing to work for it. Most people own multiple properties, fast cars and holiday in the worlds most beautiful hotspots. If you have to rent a property in Aberdeen its because you havent made it in the city of gold. Not everybody is successful and those that are not tend to be very bitter and full of envy for the majority of us who did. The city of opportunity is open to everybody but you must still work for it. Personally I made my fortune in Baker starting from being a car mechanic right up to company Director and have also travelled the world thanks to Baker. It was hard work but good fun.

Aberdeen is a hole end of.

Horrible city, dirty, full of jobless waxks, oil industry totally dead. Everything gping bankrupt.

Forced to work 24/7 or get sacked,

Worst place i have had to live and can't wait to leave.

Only good things are my rent is less than half it was 3 years ago and watching all the pretentious Aberdeen cxxks lose there cars, over paid houses and jobs.

Strange. Knowing Aberdeen, I would think the number of bars would have increased to handle the excess traffic.
