Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Collective effort by employees needs to be done to change metrics

If you're not going to quit, and creating a Union could potentially be futile, then collectively employees need to stop bending over backward to hit the metrics until the company is forced to change them.

If the targets are unreasonable and damaging, then stop working so hard and using tricks and short cuts to undermine the situation for you and everyone else.

If everyone starts to show an accurate depiction of work, they can no longer target you individually.

Why should you be responsible to constantly justify the inefficient and inaccurate way we do work to customers who are already in a terrible situation?

I’m no fan of a Union but you can always form one, they advised in management about what to say in response to unions and who to tell. You certainly can form a union.

a perfectly inaccurate narration of what the OP said. What could possibly be your motive to misdirect the narrative like that? I can't imagine.

He's a troll.

Because there’ll be new, motivated employees who want to work and will see the metrics you fear as a challenge.

I think what you mean to say is that there will be new employees who quit shortly after being hired, which is par for the course in the very competitive hub job markets.

I personally disagree with the OP in the sense that I don't think State Farm deserves the monumental effort and solidarity that it would take to correct our inept management. I'd rather take that initiative to a company that deserves it.

Well let me tell you this...you can work your butt off, meet all your metrics, which I have done and will continue to do because that is the way I roll...BUT they will will still find an excuse to screw you.

If you are in an office that is on the close list, it isn't going to matter what you do, they are looking for ways to screw us out of severance...in fact they are going to tighten the screws even tighter on us, either to get to us to leave or find a reason to fire us. I don't intend on giving them a reason to fire me, but I can't stop them from making up some dumb a-- reason to screw me out of severance.

So your reaction to potentially losing your job is to not work hard? You realize the company won’t change the metrics right? They’ll continue to change the employees. Because there’ll be new, motivated employees who want to work and will see the metrics you fear as a challenge.
