Because the Board and senior management would have been axed and they were protecting themselves while selling out everyone else. And I am sure they will get wonderful bonuses for their cost-cutting efforts and purchase their Teslas with their bonuses.

Because they wanted to f**ing protect their fiefdom. Hock would have fired all these worthless weasels and cleaned house within no time. There is so much redundancy, it is mind boggling.
These cuts announced yesterday are just peanuts. There is lot more flab that needs to be slashed for any meaningful improvement.
Because they knew that employees are like sheep and they just follow orders.
