I am from India, was interviewed a week ago. I was told verbally by HR about the offer. He told me that he would get back to me with the offer letter in 10 days. I am just worried if there would there be any hiring freeze?

@1ywz UK. However it is normal to wait for big company. u can check from Quora or Indeed, most of the ppl wait for 2-3 months as it really needs lot of approvals process. Welcome to this waiting game! and congrats for secure your job.

Did you interview for US or India location?
Hi, @SLVc7ti it won't be so fast to get the official offer letter. I interviewed by January 2018 and early of April only receive the official offer letter, it took more than 2 months. And last week I signed for the offer and no reply until now..... I'm not sure what is happening now but today news stated Qualcomm having lay off and cut more than 1500 man power.

Hiring was halted except critical department needs on high cost regions. Don't know how the package in india looks like compared to Europe or US.
From management's perspective, it makes sense to hire 2-4 people in lost cost region compared to 1 in high cost region if technical expertise is same.
PS - I was interviewed for role at India office itself.
