I was affected by the layoff. I'm finding myself with mixed feelings. I've become bored with what I've been doing for too long. Also, the toxic environment keeps getting worse. I don't see it getting better anytime soon.
This will force me to evaluate what I want to do at the next job and start the process.
One thing that I really appreciated is that I have had so many colleagues check up on me to see if I'm okay. A few commented if they weren't bound by their visa, they would change places with me.
The people who actually do the daily work are really good people. This is the one thing I will really miss about Q.
What I won't miss is 3 status-collectors to every engineer and the pointless meetings.
