Not entirely true.

I work at FB.

Former QC employee

Was hired at FB in my very early 40s. Now deeper in 40s.

Also have many friends well in late 40s and even mid 50s at Google.

While not generally common, people are there especially in some specialized hardware fields more so at Google than FB well into 50s as well.
