I googled every major Tech co. to see what they're doing and in the past year, as well as currently, every company is laying people off. I'm talking Microsoft to Dell, Intel, IBM, name a company, they're laying people off.
Even Amazon, if you can believe it, they did some layoffs recently. Might be head out of the sand time folks. Tech is not booming, it's laying off tens of thousands.
Re: these other tech companies. Not all of it is related to the company's financial performance. There's a lot of the typical oldster purging with subsequent hiring of fresher meat for same job positions weeks or month(s) later.
Layoff the bottom 5% every year is normal and healthy for a company. Qualcomm is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay...... overdue for layoff and when they do they don't cut deep enough. You lazy asses should all be fired!!!!
What BS google/amazon/facebook hiring like crazy. A few layoffs but total headcount exploding.
It's not. Software companies barely had any layoffs. Amazon laid off 5% because of their stupid new-hire procedure last year - taking people in after just two rounds of online coding assessments, of which all questions were posted online beforehand. Microsoft laid off some hardware people...but software was growing strong.
1 million tech jobs open in the Bay area. Time to move up north!
Yep, just read this site under "Latest Posts." It reads like a Who's who of Tech companies if you go back a few days.
All wireless carriers, chipmakers, software companies, maybe Google is the only company, not sure. And as for the small Tech co's. they're dropping like flies, but their layoffs rarely make the news. Too small for anyone to care.
