I mean, this layoff round will be a big deal locally (San Diego) and even on the national level. I wander why no coverage?

Because in the grand scheme of life you are just a zit in the groin of humanity.
Local media really took a turn down hill once Rod Luck and John Coleman went WFH.
Because the local media do nothing but reprint press releases.
And maybe have a quick look here. Just a bunch of random crap here so far.
May be they are worried about the stock price.
