Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Any more info

On closing more operation centers and filling up some operation centers to utilize our space? Wish they just tell the whole list of when offices will close so we can plan for our future.

Anyone who takes a job at DuPont better have a "plan b".

It's already a given that DuPont will close as jobs consolidate to the hubs. They will do exactly what they did to Tacoma, sudden closure, not enough notice.

Washington State's recently enacted minimum wage and sick leave rules are even more liberal and expensive than Tacoma's were.

If you are in or going to DuPont, get out now before you're competing for jobs with 2,000 other people.

It’s not available any longer but we used to have access to the length of the lease for each facility. The strategy appears to be to roll some of the folks working in short term lease buildings into other longer term buildings within a 50 mile radius. Little cost involved because no relo needed to keep some folks a little longer. DuPont will be at capacity once the survivors from the Two Tacoma offices are moved in. We are hemorrhaging CS’s fast as our competition poaches our best talent. DuPont won’t be at capacity for very long.

@SJmkpmM-isf - you need to go back through past posts to get that info. Proximity is going down +/- 3000 alone. Ad Services and L&D took huge hits, then there is the funky math with systems. Layoff 1200, bring in call center and claims jobs and you are only down a small number. As if impacted employees will want or take these jobs. Add Tacoma & Parsippany & oh, don't forget Bank either. So no, 900 is not the correct number of impacted employees. Far, far from it.

Agree with commenter. They want to limit the amount of upset employees at any one time and also keep operations working til they can move them. When they get done only the hubs will be open as far as offices. With todays technology they dont need regional office type locations. Layoffs are also happening even in hubs. Everyone should have a resume ready.

Any truth to the at least a 10-20% reduction in all areas that are affected? That appears to be more than the 900 as previously reported??

Part of the reason the information is distributed in stages is so they can limit the amount of upset employees that they have to manage simultaneously.

If I still worked there, I'd be planning for my exit now, regardless of my role. It's become a very unpleasant place to work in general.
