Thread regarding Noble Energy Inc. layoffs

Are we on a sinking ship with this group of exec?

It's truly amazing the number of quality people who have left the company over the last couple of years. Some were part of the layoffs and were people who were loyal to the company and were good to high performers. Some made too much money (apparently the company doesn't place as high of an importance on performance) and some others they dumped because of age. Yet others were terminated or retired due to new management being intimidated or threatened by them. Like the treasurer who seems to think he knows everything and is here to rescue the rest of us. Finance has lost quite a few people to other companies and some wonder if Marathon might consider a name change. The VP of Land and Marketing suddenly retires and we all know that doesn't raise any eyebrows. Are we on a sinking ship with this group of execs or can they possibly have a strategy that might work in the long term?

Good companies exist. Noble isn’t one of them.

Of course Noble is a sinking ship UNLESS you are a top executive. It’s been that way for years. Anyone not on the Board or at the very top of this food chain is no better than a slave chained in the bowels of the cargo hull. If you don’t break free, you will go down with the ship or the executives will toss you overboard at a moment’s notice if they think it will help them s--- one more dollar off the investors. You do not have a lifeboat. You are totally expendable.

Too many good people are leaving. Hopefully it will stop or at least slowdown some. People are talking and starting to think that something is seriously wrong. Is it?

Did we've lose any more folks this week? The door seems to be swinging outward for sure. Hopefully HR is busy recruiting candidates and just not people who will work for cheap because that's what their performance merits.

Yes. Abandon ship and go where you are valued. Those companies do exist.
