While coworkers were getting the axe, I'm guessing you were too busy rubbing elbows with GE management for a spot in their buddy system, perhaps? That or maybe you were just in denial, blinded by all the success theater going on, or worse you thought of yourself as too good to be let go.
Spend your time and energy finding a better role outside this $h1t company, you can claim success of fighting back that way.
