This is a horrible and destructive lie. We see claims over and over again that Kmart has high prices when compared to competitors and yet over and over there isn't a shread of evidence given. If you are so convinced that Kmart has higher prices then name a basket of goods and let's do a price comparison. All Kmart and Sears Holdings employees should be outraged by the outrageous lie that they're more expensive. This is promoted by people who have an interest in this company doing badly, these lies are putting Kmart jobs at risk and promoting the perception of Kmart as high priced in the minds of the consumer. This is an outrage!!

@gxu Come on. There are less than 400 Kmarts left in the whole country. Look at the list here: https://www.thelayoff.com/t/SCzxcE7 . I only see 10 states/territories remaining in which the number of Kmarts is in the double digits (10+). It would take some ridiculous amount of data analysis to actually answer your question, but it should be obvious that the numbers are not on your side. And despite the Sears/Kmart websites changing from a 50mi radius to a 100mi radius last year, nobody's going to go even 50mi just to go to a Kmart.
Not if you use the points system. I regularly walk out with free stuff.
It's not even worth wasting time comparing prices on individual items, because the problems at Sears/Kmart are so much more extensive. It's a matter of prices, shabby stores, poor customer service, dumb--sortments, out of stocks, long lines at the registers due to understaffing, poor morale of employees due to ongoing mistreatment, pressure for credit apps, an overly complicated rewards program. The list could go on. Sears/Kmart should be pricing things lower than the competitors to make up for the all the grief they put customers through. How anybody can defend these crappy stores is beyond me.
"..........these lies are putting Kmart jobs at risk......"
No. Actually, the fact that SHC is nothing but an elaborate shell game by the owner and his self-appointed BODs is putting jobs at rick. Kmart and Sears have not been viable retailers since 2004,
@pby, that's why I'm suggesting a price comparison. Name me a basket of name brand items from across all categories like Hanes socks, a popular toy, etc and we'll compare. I can't be the one to choose or else you'll say I'm choosing specific items which are cheaper at Kmart because I know they are. You list a few items and we'll compare. How you cannot understand that I literally am saying we need proof when I ask to do a price comparison is beyond me!
@ vgu There are many people in the USA who live outside of a few big cities where there are no Kmart's. The state of Texas and a few cities is not the entire USA. Name me at least 15 states in the continental United States where for most people the nearest Kmart is 100+ miles away.
You give no proof of your claim Kmart prices are competitive with Walmart, just fake news! Are you an Eddie Bot
Kmart prices mean nothing because for most of the population the nearest Kmart is 100+ miles away
My guess is the only examples given will deal with pantry items, as if two aisles of the stores gives a picture of the entire price competitive position of the stores.
