Nearly 1,500 people might be laid off from Ohio plant. And I'm pretty sure this is just the beginning and many other locations will also be hit in the coming months. Could be wrong, but I doubt it.

It's probably time for some layoffs. If product not selling and workers are unproductive, workers need to be walked.
Keep these workers and put a hiring freeze on, if needed. Why hire inexperienced, cheap labor which will need to be trained? If workers absolutely must be laid off, why not offer them a lower salary if they want to keep the job and explain the situation?
Many GM employees think that they are untouchable. Union will protect them no matter what. I'm sick of seeing co-workers acting like management doesn't have a right to ask why they are off their job walking around.
