Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Enjoy your weekend!

I understand that the pressure is high and the stress is mounting, but you breaking under that stress and quitting is what State Farm is counting on.

Don't give them the satisfaction. Enjoy your weekend, relax, spend time with your family, catch up on your show or book... Just leave State Farm behind for two days.

You will feel ten times better on Monday if you do this then if you stay in State Farm state of mind all weekend.

@SFNoY0o-1vww - If you are working the time and have been told that you can't put in for it, that is a code of conduct issue. It also violates many state & federal laws.

I work Proximity North of you. A lot of our work is seasonal, with winter being especially bad. We have been told that this is no longer a 40 hour a week job. OT is allowed, as much as is needed, we just have to let the TM know why OT was needed, i.e. a total fire & 9 IAs this week + related mail & calls. We also know that it is going to get worse after the 7/31 QTD. This was a good job once. On the bright side, OT is calculated into your retirement.

I am a proximity claim rep in the south east. We too are completely buried in work and told overtime needs to be approved in advance but there should be no overtime needed since the metrics show we are not at capacity. We are also told if you do need to work overtime then do it, but make sure you record the time as we must pay you what we owe you. But when you try to get approved for overtime it is not granted. It is a incredibly stressful and vicious circle that has been created for my group and apparently every other claim unit in the company.

I know a great deal of you are in the same position I am where you are the main provider for your family and not knowing how everything is going to turn out is extremely stressful. My family is counting on me and I can no longer count on my company.

The consulting firm that SOLD the metrics to management should have them shoved where the sun don't shine. This is not a FACTORY! Perhaps there are management who do not get as much productivity out of their employees as they should. Then management needs to find a way to motivate those employees for more productivity or then write up those employees so they will be released from their duties. Installing metrics is about punishing the entire employee group -- good workers and lousey workers being treated the same....and DONT ask for time off. METRICS need to be relaxing or done away with. It is horrible work conditions!

1gci, Alabama is not the only place that gives you 2.5 times the work we used to do, and then tells you that you can’t work overtime. This is the boiler pot that is Their new way to fire you. Keep up with the time you are forced to work off the clock, and let us all know when you file the class action law suit.

"Hard to do when you have mandatory overtime Saturday and Sunday"

At least you are able to "report" your OT. As an Alabama proximity worker (won't dare mention where), we have to work OT but aren't allowed to report it unless approved by management in advance, which they won't do. They they give you 55-60 hours worth of work and you'll get penalized when your metrics are bad. Never though I'd see the day that ethics went out the window with this company. Hopefully, will be a party to the next class action OT lawsuit.

I know it's tempting to give the executives credit for having the foresight necessary to foresee (and actually desire) people quitting their posts, but history proves a different story. So many people took the voluntary severance at the hubs that they were completely caught off guard.

I still don't think they have ANY IDEA how unpleasant a place to work they've made State Farm. Clueless and detached. That's how I would describe our leadership.
