Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

St. Louis

Many jobs will be gone in St. Louis. All of QA and compliance will no longer be in St Louis. Half the workforce in St. Louis is cut. Epect more layoffs to come especially in St Louis.

10 Years ago they erased the St. Louis Systems Office, laying off a few hundred people. Of course, by that point, they had mismanaged the office to such a extent that many had already jumped ship.

Less than 3 years later, the executives were full-force into CDE and drawing resources from all over the globe -- having that office available in St Louis, fully staffed, would have saved them a lot of money and prevented some of the "death by consultant" we suffered as a result.

Then came the, "hey, let's cram everything into one of the hubs."

I see all of this nonsense as the cyclic dysfunction of an organization where the executives do not have a finger on the pulse of what's actually happening, nor do they understand the impact of their decisions.

Clearly St. Louis isn't part of their strategy in any way... for at least the next 2 years.
