Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

Staffing shortage

Is being woefully understaffed part of the overall strategy. Academics cant work their own students. Finance is never availble. Calls last 45 minutes cant even notate before the next one comes in, unsustainable!

Up until 3-4 years ago staff was encouraged to submit suggestions. New management style brought about by the Credit Suisse guys along with the new VPs from the other for-profits do not encourage us to voice our opinions. Do any of you see any updates from the surveys they keep putting out ?? Do you think they are reviewing those surveys ? I'm thinking that they are ignoring them but giving us the impression that what we think is important to them .

So who wants to be honest, focused, and brave and send an email to leadership about this?

(I think I just hurt myself cackling at this suggestion.)

SBpzMTc-1kfo - you are spot on. Too many VPs and directors, too few fully trained employees. The university's IT systems are antiquated. Way too many managers and directors are lackeys (yes sir, whatever you want, great ideas!!) who come in late and leave early. Upper management are not fully invested. They are just waiting for golden parachutes. The blame is laid on the workers and faculty, While the true fault lies with leadership greed.

Finance is under water....but don’t worry...we’re probably having more lay offs in May so it should get better.

ER here... too many times I have tried to do the Enrollment Qual Transfer feature and no one picks up at the other end of the line. The hold is so long the student/lead/marketing dollar hangs up. Very unsustainable. Everyone shoot for the 13-15 students per month for recognition!! Hahahahaha

Truth!!! Upper management is running an experiment that will utimately fail. They haven't enrolled a student in years and strictly go by Analytics and spreadsheets.

They are self delusional and are wasting time and money searching for miracle systematic "fix" to a highly endemic problem. Let's face it, they choose to ignore the obvious and instead focus on reading scripts and robotic behavior.

You can't even get someone from Finance to answer the phone after 2 p.m.. The term "Grad Team" is meaningless.

If UOP existed back in 1912, they would be the same organization that launched the Titanic. As the ship would sink that have a group of people on the main deck asking other people to start playing music hoping that it would save everything.

Different times but very similar in nature.
