Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Contracters in San Jose - Qual Atheros

I am a contractor and when lay offs happen, will contractors be the first ones to go?

Also, if contractors are laid off, will it be by department wise contractor lay off? or all contractors across all BU's are treated the same and will be let go off? Thanks

Fwiw, I saw amazing contractors let go in 2014.

If you were not expendable you would have been rolled in by now.

No contractors were spared in 2014? He’ll be let go even if he’s crucial to the team and with the company 10 years?

I’m sure it won’t take a genius to work out that following that logic, if he’d been with the company 10 years he’d have already been laid off, back in 14.

I sure hope you don’t work on anything important!

If you are a contractor, run. No one is spared, saw it in 2014. Even if you are essential to the team, even if you have been working for 10 years. It will be merciless for contractors

Contractors are already being laid off. My boss was told last week to reduce the number of contractors he is sponsoring to exactly zero.
