Which groups are highly political and toxic?

Why does Qualcomm need the modeling group in R? What do those folks do? Models are all provided by foundries already.

It's hilarious. The group is tiny and insignificant but doesn't mean no politics there. The stuff about the PE's must be a joke. Code?? There's lot of favoritism in that group. Sycophants are plenty and top guys try to save their skin and some of their direct reports'.
QCA is the worst. Rahul plays his people against each other. He has no vision, no ethics, and no respect from customers. HR and San Diego are looking the other way.
LOL. Windows has no significant work or risk hence no need of deep politics. A place with no risk obviously looks clean and leads look great if they can just speak well. Put them in the brunt of Linux, they look average players. Plus for windows leads it’s very hard to find jobs outside so they better stick real work and there is no one from outside or inside trying to deliberately take over windows. It’s not gold. Linux has such threats every year.

From what I see the windows phone/tablet group is the cleanest group of all. They have great leaders and senior directors. Even the PEs are technically extremely knowledgeable and I suspect they can write code if needed. Last time around they let the really inept people go and then promoted the bright ones. There is no politics at all, sycophancy does not pay. It's all merit only. Those who work there are very lucky indeed.
