Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Does anyone know what kind of package was received by those who were recently laid off?

Maybe if you are mentally ill or a drug abuser, I don't think you will be homeless. Maybe you mean you will lose your house? That's why you have to get you resume ready, learn a new skill and if a better job comes up before you get laid off "take it"!! Just remember worrying is useless!!

Reply to original poster. I'm in the same boat. Right now I'm waiting to get laid off, but that could change. FYI it doesn't matter what the compensation was in the past, it could change from lay off to lay off. I'm getting my resume ready and reading how to interview well. This is a good time to practice living in the moment and not worry. What's the worst that could happen. Really what is the worst that could happen?

I am the original poster of this question. It is a serious question. I'm worried and am trying to plan for the future. Like many, I am debating whether to jump ship or wait for Mattel to make me walk the plank. Financially, I may be able to do better waiting. But I am trying to weigh options. I know people who were laid off but am not comfortable asking them. When I say "recently," I mean end of 2016/beginning of 2017. Like one poster said, "how about posting something informative about the layoffs?" It is hard to take the opinions of this group seriously when no one can responsibly respond to a serious question.

Well if that's true (1yr severance and 1 yr health ins) and everyone got this, then these people got a LOT more then others before them have gotten.

I guess employees at EA and other campuses are just red-headed step children.

They didn't ALL get that generous of a package - not even the retiree's - unless they had many years of service.

So, it doesn't matter if you worked for 7 years or 20 years you get the same thing? I find that hard to believe.

Everyone got 1 year severance, stock was vested 100% and they get their health insurance paid for 1 year.

Mattel is now known for kicking you in the package as they kick you out the door.
