Thread regarding Mattel Inc. layoffs

Toys not bankrupt, Liquidating.

Game over. Every US store gone. And anyone here who thinks that's no big deal is a complete moron.

This will be catastrophic for us.

I’d have to agree with that last comment to some degree. I visit brick and mortar stores about half as much as I use to two years ago. This last Christmas I purchased just about everything I gave out as presents on Amazon Prime. I’ve even shopped on Walmart’s site and got free shipping. SO MUCH EASIER! I always hated malls and shopping in general, especially at Christmas. And never really liked the Toys ‘R Us stores when my kids were young. Better for the environment as well. One delivery truck replacing fifty individual shopper’s car trips with all those polluting emissions. That can only be a good thing. Not to mention lessening the traffic on the roads.

No biggie, we’ll just be selling them via Amazon Prime and the like. All of us already know that specialty brick and mortar stores will be a relic of the past, as time goes by.....

You must remember this

A toy is just a toy

A sigh is just a sigh

The fundamental things apply

As time goes by 🎶

And the fundamental thing here is kids will still be playing with toys for centuries to come, as they’ve done for centuries in the past. How they get in their hands will not be that big of an issue.

What will be the issue for us is creating toys they’ll WANT in their hands.

No need to worry, M-go and her crew, like anyone else who was paying attention, saw this coming a mile away and have had plenty of time to develop a strategic plan in response. This has been a long time coming.
