I was told that whole foods is the place “chefs” go to retire. After 4 months in Prep Foods I slowly realized, it’s where chefs who couldn’t hack it in the industry go to pretend to be big shots, and brag about how they were total bad ases in the respective restaurants that they came from. Aside from that, the micromanagement was untenable, store “leadership “ nitpicking the most ancillary stuff to justify their jobs . And for the life of me I cannot imagine Amazon keeping things business as usual. I’m mean really, why would you pay someone 13/14/15/ an hour to thaw sht out? I’m back working as a kitchen manager for a local successful cafe. Sometimes the grass is truly greener

I've totally changed careers, using more of the skills I went to college for and have gotten several certifications related to the educational field. I'm actually making a real difference in the community instead of pretending to like when I worked at a grocery store. And I haven't worked a weekend or holiday since I left. Like many others, all of the people I worked with at Whole Pile Of Dukee were stunned that the RP, RVP and all the other regional nothing-burgers were actually in positions of authority. The daily stupidity we had to deal with was unbelievable. Anyway, a bunch of us science teachers were talking about grocery shopping recently. We all shop at Aldi and TJ's. A few mentioned Lucky's Natural Market which has a location here that's actually really good too. But never Whole Frauds because the pricing, out of stocks and yes, the QUALITY don't measure up. And we love natural and organic! So buh-bye, I too am HAPPIER THAN EVER and making more money doing it.
I quit recently, and couldn't be happier. Seems like WFM doesn't know what the heck they're doing. A bunch of corporate idiots with their thumbs up there a--.
I remember a time when head chef was actually a thing at WF. They often made more than TL which was justified.
