if management is going to make up numbers ($7 EPS) why not add 3 trillion to the TAM and be done with it. No cuts needed.
Layoff info is propagated well in advance, they have to be for the sake of project timelines.
The last big layoff was communicated here by me and other months ahead of it happening.
The difference now is that the uncertainty in M&A caused iffy contingency layoff scheduling, one layoff was delayed/cancelled already, but this next one is different, it's been promised to shareholders to cut a billion, and it's going to happen.
