Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

So tired of it all

I used to love working for PepsiCo. When did we become only a shadow of our former self? Seriously?

For the past several years the stress levels of working here have been increasing exponentially. Job security is a joke, we all know we can be next on the chopping block at any time on any day. How is that good work environment?

I'm just so tired of it all that I'm hoping February round actually includes me. How sad is that?

I do not work for Pepsi but my family member does and she is terrified about losing her job. Let me tell you guys something. You are not the problem. Pepsi keeps F@!%NG UP with marketing decisions. They pulled ads off YouTube, costing huge YouTubers a lot of income from ad revenue. Pewdie Pie has 60,000,000 followers and he trashed Pepsi last year for the stupid Jenner ad. I don't know WHERE Pepsi's head is at. Piss off the biggest YouTubers and there goes your sales. Millions of people were cringing over that STUPID Pepsi ad with Jenner. What team created that?! Were they smoked out of their minds?? Who made the decision to piss off YouTubers, causing massive outrage? Fire THEM. Bring in new decision makers and can the robots who think they have a clue what they're doing. How about the 1863 mixers on YouTube? The cans look like Guiness and the drinks sound/look DISGUSTING. EVERY video has more dislikes than likes. Who the heck is in charge of this stuff? THEY ARE THE ONES forcing you to lose money which means you lose your job. And they're the ones who will probably keep their jobs because some idiot knows some idiot. You should all ban together, and cause a bang and stop being afraid to stand up to them. It's like a huge cult. Or tell me who to write to and I'll do it on your behalf. The marketing is a JOKE, the decision makers are RUINING the brand and people are now losing jobs because of it. Changing the flavor, blah blah. This is marketing 101! Go for the young blood on YouTube with millions of subs, make them a deal, get social media young ones involed and ditch the IDIOTS in suits who are ruining you!

Laughing at everyone who said this company had any sort of culture going for it. What culture? sharing a sugar can with your colleague pretending to work next to you? zero f&cks to give today.

My biggest fantasy fear would be to get promoted! Security would need to escort me IN TO the building as I scream and kick to run away.

News flash people no one wants crappy chemical laden products any longer. And the super bowl ads were/are terrible. Blaze should come with a warning for people under 21. That stuff is just terrible.

I don’t know about you but the fake empowerment going around has been incredibly frustrating. PepsiCo issued higher expectations of its people in the latest leadership competencies. However, they’ve also compartmentalized and restricted the information we could previously count on to do our jobs. In our department, we’re now heavily reliant on our bosses to cascade down information. But if your boss doesn’t do that, well you’re just plain SOL. Meanwhile, you fall behind your peers who have the info they need, no matter how much you try to leverage your informal networks and shortcuts to get what you need. And who is at fault here in the eyes of PepsiCo? It’s not the manager, I assure you.

You're absolutely right. The whole atmosphere has changed within the past 3 years. We used to be able to have some serious input into what was done, now the business is being run for us. They tell us to have fun, but how can we when it isn't fun anymore? It will be interesting to see what happens the end of this week.

The posts are sad but true...from executives to assistants, everyone is just waiting to get cut. To the person whose team is inclusive and happy, be grateful, our group was like that but unfortunately has changed and its so depressing. Happy to hear stories like that one. For those who will packages, yes, we will watch you skip out the door happily and you deserve it. For those under the years required, we will find jobs that treat us with respect.

The environment not to mention the OSHA hazards is in a very sad state for a company. And only one person to blame...IKN.

Pepsi was about the people, the culture, the fun...not so anymore.

We made it through so much together, it's heartbreaking to know its normal to have this happen to us each year.

Times, they are a changing.

My story within PepsiCo is very different so much so I have turned down other positions elsewhere that pay 20% more. Why? My manager and my small team mates but more so my hands-off manager.

There's a cultural change being pushed now that I doubt will happen but from the above comments it's needed. My team is already there due to my manager.

Pepsico is a career hospice - where careers go to die

HA! Feel the exact same way. I just do the least amount possible, it wasn't always that way, but management really ruined this company.

"Pepsi where career dreams go to die."

I don't usually post anything here as I am more interested in facts about upcoming layoffs but this particular post hit it right on. I am one of these hoping my number is up. Been here 15+ years and it really is a shame how cold and unhappy this place of employment has become. I trudge through the days doing my job as best i can with constraints of money and resources almost out of spite. I am going to make them push me out at this point and not give them the satisfaction of quitting.

You are not alone, a lot of people feel the same way, GET ME OUT ! I think the joke is going to be on Pepsico. As far FLHQ I think there will be a lot of happy people skipping out the door in Plano with their packages next week or whenever it happens. Even after this restructure is all over, the turnover will continue to increase as the company continues to transform into an even more dysfunctional second rate company and people will care even less than they do now. The people in trouble will be the ones left behind there.
