Thread regarding Marietta Memorial Hospital layoffs

Look at EMR

MMH tried to save money with their piece of sh-- electronic medical records system - Meditech. Since its implementation in 11/16, productivity dropped dramatically. It is slow, cumbersome, and the internet connections are even slower. Productivity has never increased because of continued problems with this terrible product, even though they want to blame the nurse/doctors/whomever.

Now they've hired more admin and keep firing the "little guys" (nurses, techs...) in an effort to "streamline," "restructure," and "save money."

Someone needs to tell them to start at the top and work down - and fix the damn EMR.

Can you even possibly confirm there were only a “few” jobs lost? Facts...work with facts!

I have read so many false messages regarding MMH and the reassignments. It’s very sad that Marietta Memorial Hospital has taken care of so many people for years and done a great job in the process. They have probably taken care of you, your dad, mom or child, maybe they have delivered your baby and done a wonderful job! I just want everyone to know that without Marietta Memorial Hospital almost 3,000 people would be without jobs, you would have to travel to Parkersburg or Columbus for patient care including an ER visit that you will probably wait for 5 hours with only 1 hospital even close for 2 community’s. Imagine taking your baby to the ER at 4am with a 104 temp and having to wait in CCMH for 5 hours because we only have 1 hospital local. Marietta, Beverly, Lowell, Woodsfield, Belpre, Waterford, Williamstown, etc. would be a very sad place to live with NO local hospital. Three thousand people would be out of a job and probably have to move to get another job. This would hurt every business/restaurant in Marietta and surrounding areas. Do we really want this for our community? Please look at the big picture people. I understand very few people lost their jobs and I truly hate that for those people. It’s very sad when anyone loses their job. I lost my job as well in 2015 so I do know how it feels but I am thankful I was able to move on and find another job and I did not bash my employer, I was thankful several of my friends and family did not lose their jobs. Everyone needs to remember that people can read and find a way to see what you post on social media and when you go to apply for another job and you have bashed your previous employer on social media they will read it and they probably will not hire you. For the very few jobs lost at Marietta Memorial Hospital I am very sorry. I am also proud of Marietta Memorial for continuing to employ approximately 3,000 employees and working hard so they are not bought out by a big corporation because, then they won’t have a say in who stays or goes. Concerned community member.
