Nope, wasn't site HR who disabled things.
Your site HR is the one who disables those accesses. You can blame him/her for probably trying to be proactive with their tasks. Probably wanted to show their GM how dedicated they were....

As one who was involuntarily terminated today, I can say the worst part was how it was handled. An hour and a half before the designated meeting time to hear our fates, someone at corporate level disabled our email and computer access and shut off our door badges so we couldn’t get into secured doors. Wasn’t difficult to tell who was staying and who was going by who could enter the office. Pretty crappy way to figure it out.
The way this went down was very cruel. People are in positions they have no business being in. People running stores that have no idea what they are doing, well that's because they aren't but get rid of the ones that have been covering their backs. It's very unfortunate, good luck to all the good people that have been let go. Go and find something where you don't have to constantly worry and watch the poor decisions that have been made contribute to the downfall of this poor excuse of a company.
There is no "demoted" these people are just gone - walked out - see you later, at least one who has been with the company since the store opened (as in over 10 yrs)
so in other words those who don't do their job get to keep them while the ones who bust their butts don't or get demoted. Go figure
From what I've heard - we get to keep some that should be gone and lose some that should be kept - so I'm thinking BP said these positions get cut and not - pick the most qualified to fill the positions not being eliminated & so the incompetence goes forward
